Loading & Unloading

In this section, we will cover loading and unloading.

We highly recommend, purchasing dummy rounds and practice, practice practice. Don't wait until you deploy a shotgun for the first time. Best believe ALL EYES will be on you and how you handled the shotgun. If you look unskilled, have 12 gauge rounds falling on the ground while loading and unloading. That image/video will appear somewhere online.

MAKE SURE YOU LEARN THE SHOTGUN BEFORE IT JOINS YOUR DUTY WEAPON INVENTORY!

SURVIVAL SHOOTING

At the end of this lesson, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to identify and differentiate between threats, scan the environment, use proper movement/techniques to locate and move to a position of cover, and engage the proper threat(s).

Armed personnel must be able to identify deadly threats to themselves or others and then respond using only the amount of force necessary. If a threat demands deadly force, armed personnel must be able to identify that threat, innocent bystanders, field of fire, and what lies beyond the field of fire; determine if cover is available; decide that deadly force is the only course of action; and respond as quickly as possible. Armed personnel must use all of his or her faculties to make the right decision.
