We included some of the common laws related to the duties of a security officer.  You should also become familiar with the listed laws. You do not want to find yourself on the other side of the law, because you failed to educate yourself.

Disorderly Conduct, Reckless Conduct/Endangerment, Impersonating an officer, Obstructing/Hindering a law enforcement officers are very common charges used to-date.

Please do your due diligence and check for updates and research additional laws related to your job.

Handgun Qualification

Students are required to show a minimum proficiency of 80% on the basic firearms course of fire. The QUALIFICATION COURSE FOR LICENSURE shall consist of two cycles of 48 rounds each for a total of 96 rounds to be fired (2 qualification rounds). Instructors shall record the student’s highest score out of the two qualification rounds on each student’s Certificate of Firearms Proficiency Form.


Shotgun Qualification:

Students are required to show a minimum proficiency of 80% on the basic shotgun course of fire. The QUALIFICATION COURSE FOR LICENSURE shall consist of 6 rounds each for a total of 12 rounds to be fired (2 qualification rounds). Instructors shall record the student’s highest score out of the two qualification rounds on each student’s Certificate of Firearms Proficiency Form.
